So here is the story…
John Rattigan had a lovely garden/ plant shop in Park Slope that he had opened in 1999 by the clever name of root stock. On the other end of 7th avenue a tiny flower shop emerged in 2000 and curiously called itself Quade. These two shops coexisted for a bit on the avenue quietly appreciating each others esthetic until one day in August of 2003 John decided to take a walk.
That summer day Quade had a cheery display of daisies- although a common flower, one of the owner's favorites. John walked by taking notice, and secretly a fan of the simple white blooms himself, - bought a bunch and introduced himself. That October these two Park Slope gems merged and created what one customer called "the yummiest place" .
